Comments on: What guitar is better to learn off?

I just started learning guitar, and I think it's easier learning off an electric, because you can amp up the volume and you can make a clear and loud sound even though you aren't strumming very hard. You can also hear if you have made a mistake. But if just wanna have fun, get an acoustic cuz its way cheaper and you can bring it around and it's nice and light Oh, and I'm 12

you put it at the wrong place. i mean your question. anyway, it is very expensive. my sis wants to learn but it is very expensive. you can try internet search. my sis learn from there!!! by the way, i think start from normal guitar i dont mean electric guitar first is better. cause it is lighter and you can get use to the notes and everything first before you use an electric guitar. =)

You cannot learn off a guitar! You can learn to play a guitar though and it depends on the type of music you would like to play. Classical guitar is quite complicated but very pleasing to listen to and you don't need an amp to make it sound good. Acoustic guitar also does not require an amp. Electric guitar although easier to learn does require an amplifier and time when you will not be annoying the neighbours. I would feel a greater sense of acheivement from learning to play a non-electric guitar, and the skills you would learn from this would enable you to play both electric and acoustic.

Well when I was first learning to play I used a "First Act" guitar. The smaller one. It was easier for me to play, not so bulky and it is a lot cheaper than most other guitars. It's about 50-100 I think. (I got it a long time ago, sorry I don't remember exactly) I learned to play when I was about 15. It's fun if you have a good teacher. Just make sure to practice a lot! Study the chords and practice holding the strings because when you're first playing it can really start to hurt after a while. You eventually build up a callus that prevents it from hurting when you play. Once you learn you will be so glad you did. =) Good luck!
