    I’ve tried playing them and personally I find them difficult to hold without a shoulder strap due to the size and shape of the body. But they have full size necks and fingerboards and sound OK even with the small body.

    Sooner or later you’ll probably want a guitar with a full size body and a bigger sound, but the Backpacker would be fine to learn on.

    It’s a fine guitar, but I would suggest something with more of a body.
