I have only been having lessons for a year, and I have learnt to read notes and play basic chords, and do the 3 scales. But I am thinking of quitting guitar lessons and learning the rest by myself. Would that be wise? And also, would I be able to learn guitar tab and chord progressions on my own? Where do I go from here?

I heard that he learned guitar by ear and getting tips from other guitarists.but how did he learn all those blues licks and scales and chords from just learning by ear?How do you think?

ive been singing my whole life and would love more than anything in the world to learn how to play acoustic guitar. I like music like JEWEL and sheryl crow.. those types of songs.
can anyone recommend a good way for me to learn to play without having to pay someone for lessons? like a program or website? Any help would be great thanks!

I am starting to learn scales on guitar an i haven't found any good sites to find all of the scales. I found a site called http://www.guitarscalemastery.com/letter/
and it cost for a three year membership. Is that wortht? are there any other, better ways(other than a guitar teacher) that i can earn ALL of the scales from? I am open to suggestion.

I've been wanting to learn guitar since forever . I love all kinds of music with guitar (rock , flamenco , country ,blues etc) So I bought a guitar when I was 20 and I learned chords then I just left it sitting there all this time . Now I'm 32 , I pick it up every day and I enjoy it each time I learn something new (I use guitarpro 5)
So is that pathetic ?
I'm I past the time when one should enjoy such things ?

I used to take guitar lessons but my teacher never showed up. Is there any special program someone used to learn guitar, like a Cd or online?
And how long does it take to master the guitar? I really want to learn, but i want something fast, easy, and non-exspenisve.
